I’m an art curator and researcher with a deep interest in contemporary art practices. My experience in the museum and institutional field stands out, with particular attention to artistic practices related to archives and the use of underground artists’ publications as a means of expression and democratization of art. In recent years, I have combined this work with independent projects in collaboration with artists, galleries, collectives, and non-profit organizations. Through curating exhibitions, writing, editing publications, and other research projects, I seek to generate spaces for exchange and collective learning in joint work with other cultural agents.

My approach to curating combines theory and praxis, understood as two sides of the same coin. I enjoy the formal aspect of the works and the complexity of the aesthetic experience, while I consider these aspects inseparable from the generation of critical discourse. I am interested in the capacity of the work of art to influence on a spiritual and individual level, as well as its power to bring about social change as a political tool. I am especially attracted to the processes, not only the results, and to the affections and relationships that are established through collaborative work. I understand curating as a practice that goes beyond the exhibition format and expands to other media, such as public and educational programs, (an)archives and oral memories, or publications in their most diverse manifestations.

My interest in design, philosophy, and the book world marked my formative years and continues to be among my main personal attractions and influences my professional practice.

I live between Los Angeles and Barcelona, a situation I use to generate bidirectional relationships between creators, curators, and artistic spaces. Together with Alicia Escobio, I form the curatorial collective Vista Oral, with which we carry out projects with artists and other cultural agents on both sides of the Atlantic.
